I had the same concerns as you before I pulled the trigger, but I haven't missed having wider gearing in the least, now If I ever mount a WR, I may have another story, but my YZ has suited me just fine. Woods work I get into calls for 1st and 2nd, I can climb a wall the size of Texas, or jump the Mississippi River with those occasional shifts to 3rd. I just get out there and smile all without shifting. If you just love to shift, get a CR-I hear some say they are faster, but if you want just to ride change your oil both filters and check the valves here and there, get a YZ.Įvery track I go to, I stay in 3rd, and never touch the shifter, no kidding. Nice and easy with occasional blasts absolute sheer terror. I don't race, and don't ever plan on doing so because you see, I have to go to work every Monday morning-can't afford any more injury's, and I'm not the fastest guy, but I do have a rather reliable bike thanks largely due to the the way I ride her. Woods work and playing around some local tracks like you mentioned is what I love to do with my bike. So, you can choose a YZ, a WR, or a modified YZ. It's a straight up drop in, BUT you have to change the entire transmission in order to do it, including both shafts, all the gears, shift forks, and cam.

2nd through 4th are nearly the same in both bikes, and the WR has a big 5th gear tossed on top. This product entitles you to download both the digital PS4 version and the digital PS5 version of this game. The way a WR 5 speed compares to a YZ450 is this: Low gear is lower. You can go pretty hard on a WR, though, too, and the electric starter is nice to have. Some of us would rather play on MX bikes than on Off-roaders because they're lighter and more responsive, and we like to go fast even if not racing.

However, if you're really more of a trail rider, there are a couple of things to consider. As far as gear spacing, the 450 has such a fantastically wide power band that even the ratios of the 4 speed sometimes seem too close. There is only about 3 mph difference in the top speed in the two bikes. When the YZ450 is geared so that its low gear is the same as that of a YZ426, the 450's 4th gear falls 2/3 of the way up between the 426's 4th and 5th.
